• According to Nick Cassavetes, Gosling wanted McAdams replaced because they weren’t getting along while filming The Notebook. Cassavetes brought them into a room and when they were done “screaming and yelling at each other,” it was mostly smooth sailing throughout the rest of filming.
• McAdams and Gosling were romantically linked from 2005-2007, and then briefly in 2008.
• Gosling talked about their breakup to GQ magazine in 2007, “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw.”
• Gosling also stated to GQ that their relationship was very different from Allie and Noah’s, “People do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”
