Swipe to see a pretty major transformation (2015 to 2021) and for renewed faith that hair goals can come true 🪄🪄

I wish I could say there was ONE magic product or practice that created this but it’s truthfully been a journey and a balance of several things. I grew up with waist long, thick hair (thanks to good genes) until I was about 20 and started frying it with bleach and hot tools. I used irons daily & bounced around to different colorists (some base colored me, some did full highlights) and never created a lasting relationship with someone who who had my long term hair health in mind until 2015.

When I met @highbrowhippie she didn’t sugarcoat the situation, in fact I’m pretty sure her first words were “we have work to do” accompanied by a grim look 😂 She selectively brightened only pieces that could handle it and instructed me to wait several months to come back. It’s easy to find a colorist who will overhaul you to get an “after” shot but I’ve found that a true artist knows when to use restraint and say no, even if it means it’ll take a whole year to reach your goal. After a while we switched from bright blonde to a warmer honey tone closer to my natural color, and were able to incorporate my own natural “lowlights” (doing only balayage). She also introduced me to @virtuelabs products and started adding their “ColorKick” to my color formula (a keratin hair filler product - more info on her latest IG post).

These factors def also played a role:

+ spreading out highlights 3-4 months apart, avoiding weak pieces
+ air drying 80% before blow drying
+ limiting hot tools
+ consistent trims every 6 weeks to stop splitting
+ balanced diet, good basic vitamins, good sleep, managing stress

I finally feel like I have the natural hair back that I grew up with 🙏🏼 any questions I’ll answer below! #hairhealth #blondebalayage #warmblonde #honeyblonde #hairbeforeandafter

Spring hair refresh on those honey tones 💆🏼‍♀️🍯 I can easily go 3.5+ months between highlights with such natural balayage, but went into @highbrowhippie early after 2 months for a little love! I’m stuck on this honey color - I did the cool tone blonde thing for a while but looking back I think it was too severe on me. This warm tone is much more “me,” adds warmth to the face (and is pretty close to my natural shade - so much so that we can weave it through the under layers - no base color ever!!) Thank you hair magician Kadi 🤍

Other things I do for hair health:

•wash 2-3x week, deep condition often (love @virtuelabs)
•an unpopular opinion but I’m not a big dry shampoo fan.. not great for scalp buildup, I use sparingly if needed
•frequent trims every 6-8 weeks
• @slipsilkpillowcase prevents knots
•installed a water filter in house
•vitamins, diet, sleep all contribute
•also good genes.. thanks mom
