In honour of the launch of the first Chronomat collection dedicated for women, @breitling_uk invited me to highlight a cause close to my heart that celebrates women and I instantly wanted to share with you an incredible initiative from @womenforwomenuk, #SponsoraSister.

Women for Women International helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives. For less than the equivalent of a couple of coffees a week, a monthly gift of £22 will enable you to sponsor and connect with a sister, a woman survivor of war, to partake in a year long program to learn skills such as agriculture and business management, that can change her life.

Not only will your sisters life be changed forever, but her family and children will feel the ripple effect of her training and empowerment.

What has drawn me to this initiative is the intimacy of it. By writing messages of support and encouragement to your sister, you are able to directly connect with each other – and for some, these messages can be an emotional lifeline.

A participant of the #sponsorasister program by @womenforwomenuk wrote to her sponsor in a letter: "I have already bought a field and I am selling my maize and this enables me to pay school fees for my children and feed them.”

You can be part of this by donating £22 as a monthly gift for marginalised women who will, through this donation, be able to gain the skills to support their families.
