Thinking of what we lost; the legacy, the leader, the woman. The respect for our, which so many of us once revered for its nonpartisan pursuit of justice. I am heartbroken that corruption & spitefulness are running so unchecked in America right now. That hypocritical, lying, cruelty-promoting power-obsessed jackals have hijacked the seat of a woman who opened doors for all Americans & planted an agent-of-the-patriarchy-in-pearls firmly in it. A woman who is unfit. Who has never tried a case. Never argued an appeal. Who has never argued before SCOTUS. Who has only even been a judge since 2017. Who lied during her disclosures to the Senate, including about her ties to violently anti-LGBTQ groups. Her robe has a stain on it. @senatemajldr rushed her confirmation through with 8 days until an election, when 60 million Americans have already voted, despite holding Scalia’s seat open because it was “an election year” for nearly 300 days. Despite the fact that the majority of Americans say WE should get a choice in our next judge. Despite the fact that people have been begging for COVID relief, and he has left the Heroes Act which Congress passed in MAY! — to die on his desk alongside hundreds of other bills meant to help the American people including the Voting Rights Act & an election security bill. And then, stooping to the level of pathetic, attention-starved playground bullies the Senate Judiciary GOP has the gall to tweet “Amy Coney Barrett, confirmed. Happy birthday @hillaryclinton!” How petty. How hideous. How embarrassing. To confirm a woman set on stripping healthcare from millions of us while making fun of a woman who championed it. During a pandemic. And just before confirming Barrett, the court voted to uphold voter suppression tactics which tipped the 2000 election to Bush, and are highly controversial. They have made it clear that they do not want us to vote. They do not want to lose power, or the corrupt money that comes with it, so that we might all participate in the democracy that this republic was founded on. They spit on the Constitution. They’ve forgotten that they work for US. #VOTE to make them remember.
