Into the woods - massage hair brush Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush - review

The beauty of our hair directly depends not only on used cosmetics, but the choice of accessories. I used to not pay much attention to comb, considering that suit any. Always chose the cheapest, which were constantly tearing, my fine porous hair, even more confusing. Tired of pain, I gave preference to short hairstyles.

Serious about choosing a good comb, I wondered two years ago and after trying professional accessories, I realized — the combs do not save. Recently in the process of moving was lost my beloved Cloud9 and I decided to buy, which was planned for a long time.

Massage hair brush Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush "Originally created for caring rituals Aveda comb gently stimulates the scalp due to the elongated teeth. A better allocation of skincare and remove static from the hair when styling." Quite mundane promises, isn't it?
For me, the most important thing in the comb, is combing the hair after shampooing. Yes, I comb wet hair, because if you don't, it dries the hair become dry loofah and comb them in this condition almost impossible. After a month of use of this accessory, I'm happy to share my impressions.
Here in this form, the comb fell into my hands. Packaging — thick cardboard with a "window" is undoubtedly visually beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but any functionality adds, comb during the transportation time to pick up dust and all kinds of yucky.
Hairbrush quite impressive, so use it only at home. Length of the comb 25 cm, dimensions of the comb without handle: 12 cm x 8.5 cm

Slim case made of light wood, varnished. All corners rounded and smoothed. On the reverse side of handle modest nakleechka with the inscription "made in China".
I'm sure that after a few years of use and rough treatment the body may be scratched or begin to peel off painting, but then only time will tell, so far in 3 months of using a comb like new.
The question I was most worried about, while waiting for the arrival of this comb — if I hold her in my arms. Typically, these massive combs are quite heavy. The lightness of this I was pleasantly surprised — only 84 grams of pure fun. She literally felt in the hand when brushing.

The teeth are made of plastic, incidentally, is quite rough; bend only at very strong pressure. The distance between them is 5 mm.
I liked that in the structure at the base there is a small seal that does not allow the teeth to sink into the cushion.
I'd like to say that the teeth sit in the slots very tight, but I got my copy without one. It does not prevent combing the hair, but agree — it is unpleasant.

Material the pads are good, but it's not cloth, more like thin rubber, which does not absorb moisture, which makes it easier to wash the comb.
Ergonomic handle is comfortable to hold, the comb does not slip and did not get out of hand when combing the hair.
When combing hair seem to glide between the teeth. Wet brush easily untangles all tangles, does not cause hair loss (although still some hairs stay in the comb, it is inevitable). Careless combing comb, like any other, maybe a little tearing of hair.
And most importantly — a massage. This task comb to cope with a Bang! Teeth gently passed over the skin without scratching or causing any unpleasant feelings. The effect after the massage lasted about 15 minutes.
When combing dry hair comb is not electrifies the hair, on the contrary, removes static and a little smooth unruly hair.

Usually when styling your hair with a hair dryer, I use a round hairbrush, but then decided to try Aveda: comb a good job of helping to dry and straighten your hair. To collect the hair in the tail of this comb is a pleasure.

Overall I don't regret the purchase, it is a good workhorse and a worthy assistant in the care of the hair, but I think that it would've been better owners of more dense and impressive head of hair.

Price: $25
Rating: I'll put a subjective 4 — I was a bit harsh, and jumped out the cloves very upset; for the price I expected more.

  • Honestly, my first thought — "it could be two tangle teaser buy".
  • Thanks for the comment, Tangle Teaser, I don't need, I prefer a massage comb. But the price of this really high... I a few friends all ears buzz in Japan is considered one of the iconic combs, so I couldn't resist — I needed it the most to try :)
  • I'm wet, and too dry, hair comb the Tangle Teaser and the buzz))) But read with interest about this. a little Pricey, though)
  • to be honest, I still myself do not understand what you pay for... Yes, combs Yes, very easy. I saw a video where girls with hair-wires were calmly standing by Amadeu and she tore any tangles. It may still take a Tangle Teaser, at least to understand, what is it? Well, I still miss my Cloud9... And I'm thinking to take massachu Shu Uemura...
  • I also think that the combs to save a crime, but to pay big money I do not agree)) Vozvozhno this Aveda will be useful for those who takes the "threat" dreadlocks, if well unravels.
  • I Tangle Teaser just didn't fit. He rips me a decent amount of hair and comb through my hair it is impossible.
  • I eventually bought a Tangle Teaser :) while testing, but not satisfied. Will definitely write a post (if someone will be interested to see another Pro TT, they have so much on....)
  • There is a comb, very pleased with the quality and the way combs her hair! Use about 4 years, condition - like new, sorry that You came with a defect...
  • I too ordered it thinking what to buy for ages :) And as for the defect it is difficult to say — every brand has a certain percentage of defects. If a tooth has fallen off about my hair, I would be even more upset, probably :) And then a friend drove, due to the packaging of loose cloves't even seen, and I comb came towel-wrapped with protective film with papername, so it's probably a factory defect... But I don't show off, I comb my hair, comb function is not affected :)
  • Thanks for the post, it was interesting! She recently bought a hair brush for£ 18 for here need it) I know that all I want to try for yourself)
  • Thanks for stopping by :)
